3. Patwon-Ki-Haveli

Patwon-Ki-Haveli is located in the main city. It was built by a famous businessman named Guman Chand and his sons. This sprawling five-story building has five spacious suites that are intricately decorated. The large corridors and the decorated walls are excellent representations of the prevalent art form. The entire construction is built up of yellow sandstone. The grandeur and architecture of the monument give great importance to the cultural heritage of the city. 6. Gadisar Lake 

Gadisar Lake situated at a distance of one kilometer from the fort. It was constructed by the first ruler of the land, Raja Rawal Jaisal and later rebuilt by Maharawal Garsi in 1367 AD. 8. Jain Temple 

Located inside the Jaisalmer Fort, the Jain Temples are a series of temples dedicated to Jain Tirthankaras and can be traced back to the 12th century. Beautifully carved and well connected, these temples are a sight to behold and are made entirely of yellow sandstone.

9. Kuldhara

An abandoned specter town, Kuldhara was once a prosperous city occupied by Paliwal Brahmins. The reason why an entire city was deserted within one night is not clear, but popular belief holds the then state minister Salim Singh responsible. The minister wanted to marry the village head’s daughter and so he gave an ultimatum to the village head to accede to his demands or face dire consequences for the entire community. Instead of acceding to the minister’s demands, the entire village decided to move away. Before leaving, he cursed this place to never become a human settlement and this thing has proved to be true till date. Visit Kuldhara to get a glimpse of the past and be amazed by its stories.

Among all the havelis of Jaisalmer, Salim Singh Ki Haveli known for its distinctive and attractive architecture. It built by the then minister Salim Singh, who wanted to make it as high as the fort but refused by the king. It has 38 balconies which have their own distinctive architectural style and a peacock shaped ceiling. This haveli provides a good glimpse into the past and photographs taken here will be awe-inspiring.
